How to Prevent Bad Smells?
Keeping your cooler smelling fresh requires regular maintenance. Here are 3 tips from CoolFix experts:
1. The “Dry Run” Technique
Turn off the water pump 15 minutes before you switch off the fan. This allows the fan to dry the cooling pads completely. Fungus needs moisture to grow; dry pads mean no fungus and no smell.
2. Weekly Water Change
Never top up water endlessly. Once a week, open the drain plug and let all the old water out. This removes concentrated salts and accumulated dust that feed bacteria.
3. Use Camphor or Dettol
You can add a few drops of mild disinfectant or specialized cooler perfume to the tank. However, avoid strong acids as they can damage the pump motor.
