Dead Motor
The small “Synchronous Motor” inside has burnt out. It gets power but doesn’t rotate.

What is a Synchronous Motor?
The device responsible for the “Swing” function is called a Synchronous Motor.
- Low Speed: Unlike the main fan motor (1400 RPM), this motor spins very slowly, usually at 4 to 6 RPM.
- Direct Power: It runs directly on 220V AC. It does not need a capacitor.
- Gear Reduction: Inside the tiny metal casing, there are several plastic gears that reduce speed and increase torque to push the blades.
- Failure Point: Since it is always ON when the cooler is running, these plastic gears wear out after 2-3 years, causing the “Clicking” noise.
Quick Check
If you push the blades gently by hand, do they start moving? If yes, the motor is weak. If they feel jammed, the linkage is broken.
